What is Biomedical Informatics?
Biomedical Informatics is an emerging domain (has been for a while now) and is still far from being a specialization that is easily identified or understood. A recent article by Bernstam, Smith and Johnson discuss the origins and existing definitions of biomedical informatics and proposes a definition that is grounded in theory.
I defended my dissertation titled, “Understanding Adaptive Behaviors in Complex Clinical Environments” in June 2012. The abstract and link to my interactive presentation (created using Prezi) is available in the full article. This is a good place to start, if you want an overview of my research work.
